Summer holiday

My parents are enjoying Zakaria's company since 3 weeks and he is proving to be a handful. I am trying to stay at the sideline and focus my thoughts on the list of "things to do" while in Belgium.

As usual, I made a list of things to buy. Not that they cannot be bought in Syria, but here the goods are in general of better quality.

Some things are hard to find in Syria, such as a trampoline for Zakaria. I bought a mini trampoline of 1m20 which can be put in the house and, when needed, on the balcony or in the garden.

I can also use it for exercising which I have picked up 2 months ago, now focusing on the abdomen. I feel the need to build up a routine to burn calories regularly in order to lose some of the weight that has built up over the last 3 years.

Every 3 to 4 days we phone home. Mohamed has finished fasting and feasting and is waiting for us to come home. I hope he watered the new plants in the garden regularly. It was the only request I had at our departure.

During our absence, Zakaria gained a niece, daughter to Khaliel. All is well and we will get to know her soon.

Until then, we hope to live some warm and sunny september weather in Belgium.
