Fairytale
The rest came beginning of July, but very short. Now that the real heat has started, French and Italian campers start dropping in.
Today, Zakaria and I were invited to have spaghetti at noon. I did not incline. I love the Italian kitchen, especially when prepared by Italians.
We had spaghetti with a garlic/olive oil sauce and plenty of “parmiggiani”, sweets afterwards, and espresso. It was a real treat.
The temperatures are rising. That’s why it is a good time to travel to Belgium, although high temperatures are reported in the European countries too.
Zakaria doesn’t have a clue about his upcoming trip. His Papa regularly mentions it, but he doesn’t understand the notion of travelling to another place. He just continues his life day-by-day.
His biggest need, nowadays, is Mama taking time to read fairytales. It is not possible for me to have a rest. As soon as I sit down, he pushes a book under my nose ordering me to read. If I tell him I am tired and need a rest, he starts complaining until I read the story, and then another one, and then another one, and then another one…
I have to be very inventive to focus his attention on something else.
Yesterday evening – very late – I told him : first we go to sleep and then I will read. He slept until 09:30, opened his eyes and said “read”. I pointed out some duties, like going down into the garden to chat with the campers and clean the facilities, and he agreed to fulfil them before having a “read” moment.
It is a question of knowing the right buttons, just like he is always trying to push some buttons.
