Cold again

I am still getting kind words from all over the world and do want assure everybody that we are all right. We are getting on, as usual. It has been cold AGAIN for about a week. Very hard to cope with. A strong cold wind blowing from the west made the temperatures drop quickly to 13°C in the house and outside it was even colder. Austrian campers arrived just when it was over and were over the moon that it was over. They had been cold for 2 weeks and had had snow in Turkey. We had thunderstorms and rain for a few days. German campers coming from Africa reported the same cold weather in Jordan. So, it seems like the whole region was hit by this late winter weather. This weather, of course, came wild the flu and a cold which in my case is hard to get over when combined with hay fever. It is hard for me to tell which is which as many symptoms are alike. But, I shouldn’t be complaining. The sun is shining and the garden is in great shape. Dutch campers brought 4 different kinds of “berry plants” with them and they are prospering well. Together with last year’s 2 raspberry plants, they add a new dimension to the garden. All remains to be seen whether they can survive the dry hot summers here Next thing on my list is rhubarb which seems to become rare in Europe too. Zakaria needs to be potty trained. He goes along with the logic and seems to agree with it, but until now not a great success. Maybe I am doing something wrong or he is still not ready for it. This time we start even before the heat, so we have a long time before he becomes a real danger to the carpets again. He is awake at 08:00 every morning and does a long nap every 2 days. “Reading” and “writing” is currently his favourite pastime. When I ask him something, he often answers annoyed : I am reading, Mama. I am often told “not to step on the flowers” and asked “what are you doing”. He often tells me “here am I, Mama” and regularly covers me with kisses. As one of the campers last year said: “He is trouble”.
